Antique Art Nouveau Gold Rolled Mucha Maiden Locket Pendant w/Photos & Provenance. Dates to the late Art Nouveau/Edwardian era, circa 1910. Crafted in rolled gold or filled metal. Not hallmarked as to metal content, but does bear a maker’s mark of’BBCO’, which is likely the hallmark of the Bliss Bros. Company of Attleboro, MA. Wonderful design, featuring a Mucha-type maiden tucked in amongst over-sized orchids (or irises) on the front. The back is engraved with the initials’ASR’. Inside the locket, the words’Amy Reichart’ &’Ephrata, PA’ are hand scratched. Inside the locket are the two original frames, and two black & white photographs – one of a young man in his twenties, and two small children in the other. On the back of the photo of the children is the words’Spring of 1928′ written in pencil. The locket measures 1.50″ from bail to base, with a side to side width of 1.13″. Condition is good, with no repairs. Some gold loss noted, but polishes up beautifully. Flattening of the nose of the woman noted.
